F.C. Council to Hear Appeal of Historic Board Ruling

At its next official business meeting Sept. 13, the Falls Church City Council will hear and rule on an appeal by local residents Albert W. and Maria Wilson, who are hoping for a reversal of a ruling by the City’s Historic Architectural Review Board (HARB) that denied the owners’ request to raze an historic-designated structure on the property at 311 Grove Ave. The appeal will include an opportunity for a public hearing. While according to law, the matter was supposed to have come before the Council last month, by agreement with the Wilsons, it was delayed until Sept. 13 to avoid the need for the Council to convene a special meeting in August.
