F.C. Council May Hear Appeal on Historic Preservation Ruling This Month

A ruling by the Falls Church Historic Architectural Review Board (HARB) interceding against the tear down of a residence on Grove Avenue in F.C. may be appealed to the F.C. City Council, City Manager Wyatt Shields announced at the F.C. Council work session tonight. Under the rules of the HARB, an appeal must be heard by the Council within 30 days of its ruling, meaning that a special meeting of the Council may need to be called later in August. However, the matter conflicts with the City Charter, which states that the Council shall meet only once in August. “Stay tuned,” Shields said.
