Request for Proposals for Policy Review Services for the Falls Church City Public School Board The Falls Church City Public School system is seeking the services of a lawyer or law firm to identify legal issues in proposed policy revisions and to develop drafts of policies in compliance with state and federal laws for school board review. Selection of finalist will be based on the following criteria: Experience and training in the area of school law; Expertise and experience in policy development; Efficiency of timetable to complete review of policy sections and specific policies that need revision based on the Virginia School Board’s Association (VSBA) model policies by June 30, 2011; and Availability for consultation with school staff during normal working hours and follow-up consultations with the school board during evening meetings. Contractor will be selected and contract will commence no later than October 1, 2010. The length of the contract is one school division fiscal year (July 1 – June 30, 2011). Contract renewal will be based on performance and completion of tasks. Time required for task completion will vary according to policy revision needs; however, time should not exceed 25 hours per month. Copies of the scope of work can be obtained at the School Board Office at 800 W. Broad Street, Suite 203. If selected for an interview, the offerer should be prepared to provide a non-binding estimate of cost for services.
