Wanted fugitive from Buffalo, N.Y., 51-year-old Dennis Orlinkowski of Burke, was arrested last week and is being held without bond after being found carrying hundreds of images of child pornography during a routine truck safety inspection by Fairfax County police officers in Annandale on July 7.

Orlinkowski’s hazardous materials truck was stopped for around 4 p.m. that Wednesday on Little River Turnpike when police spotted an oddly shaped potato chip bag stuffed in the side panel of the door of the tanker. Among the contents of the bag were two hard drives, later discovered to contain the images, police reported today.

Officers contacted detectives from the department’s Child Exploitation Unit, while detectives obtained a warrant to search Orlinkowski’s residence at 5105 Arrit Court. He was arrested and charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography and being a fugitive from justice.

Police later discovered Orlinkowski was on the run after being issued a warrant for failure to register as a sex offender. The investigation is ongoing. He’s being held at Fairfax Adult Detention Center.
