Mason Girls Soccer Wins District Playoffs

Madison County High battled George Mason High School’s varsity girls soccer team to a draw, 0-0, through 100 minutes of play Thursday night in the Bull Run District Tournament Championship, but for the second game in a row, Mason sophomore Leah Roth hit the game-winner for the Mustangs, this time in shootout after four overtime periods.

George Mason Junior Violet Miller was selected Bull Run District Player of the Year.

County High battled George Mason High School’s varsity girls soccer team to a draw, 0-0, through 100 minutes of play Thursday night in the Bull Run District Tournament Championship, but for the second game in a row, Mason sophomore Leah Roth hit the game-winner for the Mustangs, this time in shootout after four overtime periods.

After claiming the regular season and tournament Bull Run titles, Mason will begin regional play with a home game on Memorial Day, Monday. The Mustangs are the defending two-time state champions.

After the game, Mustang coach Jennifer Parsons was named Bull Run District Coach of the Year.
