Housman Wins ‘Ro Pa Sci’ Limo Ride Night Out

George Mason High School (GMHS) eighth-grader Grace Housman was treated to an hour-long limo ride to a restaurant, courtesy Don Beyer Volvo, for being the winner of this year’s Ro Pa Sci contest. GMHS Teacher Joel Block began the co-ed Ro Pa Sci fraternity contest to keep students engaged in their studies throughout the year.

Housman’s friends, Ellie Johnson, Brooke Strong and Reca Sarfat, joined in on the limo trip.

To become a member of Ro Pa Sci, students must complete all of their homework, maintain or improve their grades and exhibit good classroom behavior. The students who “get in” earn a certificate of recognition for their hard work and become eligible to compete for the grand prize. The final competition is a big rock, paper, scissors contest, hence the fraternity name, Ro Pa Sci.
