PUBLIC NOTICE CITY OF FALLS CHURCH HISTORIC ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW BOARD

On Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 7:30 PM in the Administrative Conference Room of City Hall, 300 Park Avenue, the Historic Architectural Review Board (HARB) will hold a public hearing to consider the following application: 311 Grove Avenue by Geoff Rowe and Mike Eckhoff, agents for Albert B. and Maria Willson, to raze an existing single-family structure. REPUBLICAN PARTY PRIMARY ELECTION ON JUNE 8TH, 2010: The Republican Party Primary Election will be held on June 8, 2010. On the ballot will be two candidates running for the nomination of the Republican Party for the office of Member of United States House of Representatives for the 8th Congressional District. As is required by §24.2-416 of the Code of Virginia, registration books will close on May 17, 2010. Registration applications will be accepted as meeting the deadline if they are either received by the Office of Voter Registration & Elections or postmarked by May 17, 2010. Citizens who need to register to vote or update their registration address must do so by Mon, May 17 in order to be eligible to vote in the election. All citizens who will be 18 years old on or before November 9, 2010 are eligible to register and vote in this election (this means some 17 year old citizens will be able to vote in this Republican Party Primary Election as long as they are 18 years old by Nov 9, 2010, the date of the General Election). Applicants may download an application to register at www.fallschurchva.gov/vote or visit the Office of Voter Registration & Elections at 300 Park Ave. Room 101E, Falls Church, VA 22046 or by calling 703-248-5085. Applications for absentee ballots by mail must be received by Tuesday, June 1st at 5:00 p.m. Hours for in-person absentee voting will be the same as regular office hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) starting Friday, May 7, 2010. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR CITY COUNCIL LONG-RANGE FINANCIAL WORKING GROUP

CITY COUNCIL IS SOLICITING CITY RESIDENTS to fill two vacancies on the Long Range Financial Working Group to assist City Management and the City Council with long range financial planning. The Council is seeking city residents who, by virtue of their education and employment in the public or private sector, have demonstrated competence in one or more of the areas of accounting, economics, financial analysis, financial forecasting, budget and fiscal management, and public finance.
