U.S. Rep. Jim Moran Has No Opposition From Democrats, June 8 Primary Cancelled

With the deadline for filing passed today, U.S. Rep. Jim Moran was certified as the only candidate to file for the Democratic nomination for election to the 8th District of Virginia, it was announced tonight. As a result, the Democratic Party’s 8th District chair Margo E. Horner declared that there will be no primary on June 8. Moran paid the filing fee and submitted over 1,000 valid signatures to secure the unopposed nomination. “We are very pleased to have Rep. Moran as our nominee,” Horner said. “He has served this district with great distinction for almost 20 years.”
