The Falls Church High School boys baseball team has a scrimmage at home on Friday at 5 p.m. against Fairfax. The softball team has a pair of scrimmages before opening regular season play on Monday at 6 p.m. at Mason.

The Jaguar soccer regular season kicks off at home with a double header on Monday against Annandale. The girls take the field at 5:30 p.m., the boys at 7 p.m.

The lacrosse season gets started in full force on Tuesday, as the boys are at McLean at 3:15 p.m., and the girls host McLean on Tuesday at 6:15 p.m.

Boys tennis hosts Edison at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, and girls tennis starts at Edison at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

GEORGE C. MARSHALL H.S.

After a pair of scrimmages, the Marshall High School baseball team opens its season on Monday at 5:30 p.m. at Washington and Lee. The softball team is also at Washington and Lee on Monday for a 6 p.m. game.

The boys lacrosse team travels to Annandale for a 5:30 p.m. match on Tuesday, and the girls team hosts Annandale at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

The boys soccer team hosts Washington and Lee at 7 p.m. on Monday, and the girls team is at W&L at the same time.

The Mason High School baseball team opens its season on Monday when it hosts Broad Run at 5 p.m., and the softball team kicks things off at Falls Church on Monday at 6 p.m.

The boys soccer team welcomes Hayfield on Friday at 7:30 p.m., and is at Herndon on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. match. The girls soccer team welcomes South Lakes on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

The boys lacrosse team faces Trinity School on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Three members of George Mason High School’s Winter Cheer squad were honored last week at the Winter Athletics Banquet.

Kaelin Seitz earned recognition as the Most Valuable Cheerleader. Ellen Francis and Katie Devereaux received awards for Most Improved.

J.E.B. STUART H.S.

The Stuart baseball team does not start its regular season until late next week when they travel to Dominion High on March 19.  The softball team has a pair of scrimmages before kicking off its season at Mason on March 18.

The Stuart boys lacrosse team has a scrimmage on Thursday at Mason at 6:30 p.m., and the girls team faces Mason at 5 p.m.

The Stuart boys soccer team won a scrimmage against South Lakes 4-3 last week, and opens the regular season when they host T.C. Williams on Monday at 7 p.m. The girls soccer team defeated South Lakes 1-0 during a scrimmage last week, and open their regular season on Monday at T.C. Williams at 7 p.m.

The boys tennis team opens its regular season on Wednesday at home at 4 p.m., against Yorktown, and the girls team is at Yorktown on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

 

Tommy-Wrestler

Falls Church’s Tommy Chang won gold in the 2010 Rookie Open Wrestling Tournament held March 6 in Hampton, Va. Seven-year-old, first year wrestler, Tommy Chang, took the silver medal in the 9-10 year-old 5-man bracket for the 69–73-pound weight class, and swept the 7-8 year 3 man bracket to win gold in the 70-72-pound weight class. MCLEAN H.S.

The McLean baseball team has a scrimmage on Saturday at noon at Lake Braddock. The softball team has a scrimmage at noon on Saturday, at South County.

The boys soccer team opens its regular season on Monday at Wakefield High at 7 p.m., and the girls team welcomes Wakefield on Monday at 7 p.m.

Boys lacrosse plays host to Falls Church on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m., and girls lacrosse heads to Falls Church for a 7:15 p.m. match on Tuesday.
