Lady Mustangs Reign as Region B Champions

George Mason High’s girls varsity basketball team successfully defended their Region B title at the regional tournament held this weekend at Eastern Mennonite University.

The first-seed Lady Mustangs rolled over key rival Strasburg 52-27 Friday night to face second-seed Buckingham Saturday. The girls routed Buckingham 63-26 to claim the Region B title once again.

The Mustangs will take on the Division 2 Region A runner-up, Northampton High, next weekend, as the state’s best teams prepare for the Virginia state finals to be held the following weekend, March 11 – 13.

The Lady Mustangs are the defending Division 2 Group A state champions.
