Breakfast Honors Band, NHS Members at F.C.H.S.

It’s time for the 2nd annual Falls Church High School (F.C.H.S.) National Honor Society (NHS)/Band Pancake Breakfast. The breakfast will be held on Saturday, Feb. 20 from 9 – 11 a.m. at the Falls Church High School Little Theatre (7521 Jaguar Trail, Falls Church). Tickets are $5 and can be purchased from any Band or National Honor Society student, or at the door. For more information, call 703-207-4222.

Freshman Orientation Rescheduled for Statesmen

Marshall High School’s Freshman Orientation, Curriculum Showcase and Academy Open House have been rescheduled to Feb. 22. The event will be for upcoming freshmen and their parents and families. Marshall H.S. Snags Silver, Progresses in Rank

George C. Marshall High which recently received a Silver Medal from U.S. News & World Report, announced that the high school had progressed from 254 to 157 in Newsweek’s 2009 ranking of America’s top 1,500 high schools.

International Family Night Gets Set Back at Marshall

Marshall High School (7731 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church) international family night was originally scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 18. It has now been moved to Thursday, Feb. 25. To get more information, go to www.fcps.edu/MarshallHS.

Bricks to Honor Notables at McLean H.S. ‘Scotty Walk’

Community members can buy a brick to commemorate a coach, teacher or student at McLean High School. The Boosters Club will add the brick to the “Scotty Walk” at the football stadium, the baseball bleacher pad or the new softball walkway. For a tax deductible donation of $100 they will incorporate your own personalized brick into the walk. This donation will help with capital improvements. Order by Feb. 19, and the brick will be installed during the Spring Sports Season. For more information, visit www.mcleanactivities.org.

9th-Grade Highlander Orientation Rescheduled

Rising 9th Grade Orientation has been rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 18. It is an informational meeting for the families of the McLean High School Class of 2014.
