6 Prepared to Seek CBC Endorsement for F.C. City Council as Candidates Gather Tonight

Six candidates made clear tonight their intention to seek the endorsement of Falls Church’s Citizens for a Better City (CBC) at its nominating convention this Saturday. As a CBC meeting for prospective candidates tonight, five candidates appeared and a sixth has already formally announced but was out of town. There will be four seats contested in the May election.

For School Board, only three prospective candidates attended tonight seeking to fill the four seats that will also be voted on in May.

The Council candidates included Incumbent Vice Mayor Hal Lippman, Incumbent Councilman Dan Sze, Former Vice Mayor Lindy Hockenberry, Planning Commission Chair John Lawrence and long-time community activist Barry Buschow. Current School Board Chair Ron Peppe, an announced candidate, could not make the meeting.

Incumbents Susan Kearney and Rosaura Aguerrebere and first-time candidate Patrick Riccards were the candidates present seeking the CBC’s blessing as School Board candidates.
