F.C. City Hall Urges Citizen Input at Budget Forums Feb. 13 & 18

The City of Falls Church issued a statement today urging citizen input at two budget forums scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 13 at 10 a.m. and Thursday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m., both in the Community Center at 223 Little Falls St.

With the difficulties facing policy makers due to steep revenue shortfalls this year, officials are keenly interested in learning which City government and school programs the public values the most. Each meeting will begin with a background by City Manager Wyatt Shields and School Superintendent Dr. Lois Berlin, followed by small-group discussions and an “open mic” question-and-answer period.

The Falls Church City Council has until April 26 to establish a balanced budget for the coming fiscal year that begins July 1. Numerous additional opportunities for public input on the budget process will be available between now and that date.
