F.C. Council Members Warn Revenue Projections for FY11 Are ‘Staggering’

Falls Church City Council members acknowledged at their business meeting tonight they’d engaged in a series separate one-on-one meetings with City Manager Wyatt Shields last weekend to be briefed on preliminary revenue numbers, not yet made public, that should be available for the next Fiscal Year 2011 budget, and that the projections are “staggering” and “unsettlilng to say the least.”

Councilman Dan Maller alluded to the meetings, using the “unsettling” phrase, and Councilman Nader Baroukh described the numbers as “staggering.” Shields suggested the projections will be revealed openly for public discussion at next Monday’s Council work session.
