Crime Report: September 1 – 7, 2009

Drunk in Public, 6763 Wilson Blvd, September 1, 12:23 PM, a male, 39, of Falls Church, VA was arrested for being drunk in public.

Larceny from Vehicle, 1051 E Broad St., Koons Nissan, a black bike rack was stolen from a display vehicle sometime between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM on August 31.

Driving under the Influence, 900 blk W. Broad St., September 1, 11:30 PM,  a male, 27, of Falls Church was arrested for driving under the influence.

Graffiti, 601 S Oak St., (TJ Elementary School), September 1, 4:14 PM, a tree and retaining wall were spray painted with a reddish purple paint by a group of juveniles.

Larceny from Vehicle, 800 blk W. Broad St, in the early hours of September 2, the driver’s side window of a vehicle was broken and a TomTom GPS unit was taken.  Another vehicle had its spare tire taken.

Larceny and Destruction of Property, 6900 blk of 26th Street, September 1, between 10:00 and 11:00 PM unknown subject(s) cut down two Japanese Maple saplings and stole a padlock off the door of a shed.

Drug/Narcotic Violation, 1100 blk Ellison Street, September 2, 08:21 AM, a male, 20, of Falls Church, VA, was arrested for possession of marijuana (2nd offense).

Hit and Run, 6795 Wilson Blvd. (Eden Center), September 2, 4:43 PM a tractor trailer being unloaded was hit by the rear view mirror of an Audi with Washington DC tags CK1790.  Victim declined prosecution.

Drunk in Public, 809 W Broad St., September 3, a male, 29, of the City of Falls Church was arrested for being drunk in public.

Larceny from Vehicle, 100 blk Chanel Terrace, early AM hours of September 3, a vehicle’s window was broken and a GPS unit was taken.

Drug Narcotic Violation and Fireworks Violation, 422 S. Maple Ave., (Cavalier Trail Park), a juvenile was charged with possession of marijuana and a City Code fireworks violation.

Larceny from Building, 300 blk. Riley Street, September 3, 6:19 PM, owner reported that cash had been stolen from a home office on two different occasions.  Victims chose not to prosecute the one known offender.

Destruction of Property, 6757 Wilson Blvd., (Eden Center), September 4, 02:16 AM, victim reported that an unknown person(s) broke a vehicle’s side view mirrors.

Graffiti, 601 S Oak St., (TJ Elementary School), September 4, 10:00 AM, yellow and blue spray paint was used to letter the side of the building.

Simple Assault, 624 S Washington Street, (Cars International), 01:50 PM, following an altercation between two employees the victim was advised of the process of obtaining a warrant for assault.  Additionally, one of the employees was banned from the store by the owner.

Destruction of Property, tennis court’s light covers were destroyed.

Vandalism to Vehicle, 300 blk Sycamore Street, sometime between  August 20 and September 5, a motorcycle was severely vandalized.

Drunk in Public, 127 E. Broad St., (Applebee’s Restaurant) September 5, 00:38 AM, a male, 50, of Falls Church was arrested for being drunk in public.

Graffiti/Damage to Property, 100 blk of W Annandale Rd., September 5, 7:27 AM, front glass door and back fence had the word “NAZIS” written in red spray paint.

Drunk in Public, 6795 Wilson Blvd, (Eden Center), September 5, 10:30 PM, a male, 33, of Falls Church was arrested for being drunk in public.

Hit and Run, 300 blk of Shirley Street, victim reports that his vehicle was struck between 7:00 PM on Friday, September 04 and 12:38 AM on Saturday, September 05.  Approximately $800 in damage was caused by the unknown vehicle.

Driving under the Influence and Drug Violation, 100 blk., S. Virginia Avenue September 6, 01:35 AM, a male, 26, of Vienna, VA was charged with driving under the influence and possession of cocaine.

Driving under the Influence, 300 blk N. Washington Street, September 6, 02:31 AM, a male, 25, of Centreville, VA was arrested for driving under the influence.

Larceny, 100 blk N West Street, September 6, 03:56 AM, Alexandria Yellow Cab driver reported that a person he had picked up in Franconia had run away without paying the $45.59 fare.  The unknown suspect, Hispanic male wearing all black clothes, ran behind the building at 110 N West Street and disappeared.

Driving under the Influence, 800 blk E. Broad St., September 6, 10:57 PM, a male, 28, of Falls Church was arrested for driving under the influence.

Destruction of Property, 400 blk of Great Falls Street, September 6, 12:04 PM owner reports that the lower panel of a garage door was damaged sometime the prior week.  No suspects or witnesses.

Disorderly Conduct, 400 blk of James Court, September 6, 3:05 PM, rocks were thrown over a fence into the Winter Hill community pool.  Two juveniles were charged with disorderly conduct.

Suspicious Event, 400 blk of Great Falls Street, September 6, 7:18 PM victim reports that mail has been tampered with and that on three different instances in the past, nails have been found in the tires of  the owner’s vehicle.

Driving under the Influence, 6700 blk Wilson Blvd., (Eden Center), September 7, 2:30 AM, a male, 52, of Hampton, VA was arrested for driving under the influence.

Driving under the Influence, 6795 Wilson Blvd., (Eden Center), September 7, 00:23 AM, a male, 38, of Richmond, VA was arrested for driving under the influence.

Drunk in Public, 6700 blk Wilson Blvd. (Eden Center), September 7, 10:43 PM, a male, 34, of Reston, VA was arrested for being drunk in public.
