Burke & Herbert Bank & Trust Company has appointed W. Scott McSween as President and Chief Operating Officer, effective July 13, 2009.

Mr. McSween joins the Bank following 12 years as Executive Vice President of the Retail Banking Division at Chevy Chase Bank, which was acquired by Capital One Financial Corporation earlier this year.  Mr. McSween joined Chevy Chase Bank following 20 years at BayBanks.  E. Hunt Burke, until now the President and COO, will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer.  Charlie Collum will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board.  Established in 1852, Burke & Herbert is the oldest bank in Virginia and the oldest continuously operating bank in the D.C. area.  The Bank operates 20 branches in Northern Virginia including one at 225 W. CSC received 11 awards last month at the ACORD LOMA Insurance Systems Forum, hosted by ACORD, a nonprofit insurance standards organization, and LOMA, a worldwide leader in learning and professional development within the insurance and financial services industry. Nine of the awards were determined by insurance carriers who named the top technology providers in various categories. CSC also was recognized for developing an industry standard that enables consistent communications between disparate systems. The Falls Church Chamber of Commerce has launched its new website at www.fallschurchchamber.org.  The new site provides information on the Falls Church area, about the Chamber, recent news about the business community and information on upcoming events.  The site was created by Falls Church-based Janmedia (www.janmedia.com) who redeveloped the site to reflect the new logo and be more user friendly and streamlined.
