PHOTO GALLERY: Falls Church Watch Night Chimes in New Year ’09

025-A-brand-New-Era-of-seei.jpgNew Year’s Eve revelers braved chilly winds at the City of Falls Church’s 11th annual Watch Night celebration to bid ‘Auld Lang Syne’ to 2008.

The midnight party goers started the fete earlier in the evening with a series of outdoor and indoor activities along the 100 block of West Broad Street. Musical group Nu Era, which headlined Watch Night two years ago, returned this year, as Falls Church’s denizens put on their finest to rock the night away. Food and fun accompanied the music, with many of Falls Church’s own restaurants and entertainment groups contributing to the late-night festivities. (Photos: Gary Mester and Shaun Van Steyn)
