National Capital Cat Show, Dulles Expo Center, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 8, 9.

Meow. Need I say more? OK, I know not everyone is nuts about kitties, but for those who are, or are questioning, then this two-day gala is not to be missed. There are serious and not so serious competitions, boat-loads of very prissy kitties who think they’re the greatest gift to the planet, tons of kitty paraphernalia (a billion dollar business), and opportunities to buy kittens and adopt SPCA-held cats (which is really the coolest thing to do). Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and children, and $24 for a family of four. Why do I think there’ll be a certain furry smell prevailing throughout the house?
