The Phantom of the Opera, Now through August 12, Kennedy Center Opera House.

He’s baaaack! Well, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic The Phantom of the Opera has been on Broadway for almost 20 years already, but for folks in the Washington, D.C., area who may have seen it back when, the thought may seldom arise to travel to the Big Apple to see it once more. That is because there’s always so much new good stuff opening up there, that idea always gets bumped down the list in favor of more novel options (although it really is worth a trip to see the current revival of A Chorus Line). But now that Phantom is once again just down the street, here’s your chance to love it again. The only thing I’ve seen more times myself is Titanic (j/k). Next Wednesday June 27 at noon, there is a Phantom “lunchtime look-in.” Bring a sack lunch and join cast members in a conversation about the production.
