The regular season Single A champion Red Wings completed a perfect 15-0 season on June 17, defeating the Rattlers by a score of 11-9 and winning the Single A tournament championship. Third baseman Harrison Nixon’s unassisted out helped prevent the Rattlers from scoring in the first inning. After the Red Wings jumped to a 4-0 lead, the Rattlers roared back in the second with four runs of their own to tie the score. Nick Haddock’s two-RBI double in the third gave the Red Wings a one-run lead. Despite a very strong offensive showing by the Rattlers, the Red Wings were able to hang on to the lead for the remainder of the game.
