F. C. Homeless Shelter Benefit, “An Evening of Jazz,” The State Theatre, Falls Church, tonight (Feb. 22) from 7 to 11 p.m.

You didn’t make it into the “Wammies” last Sunday night at the State, did you? And you won’t make it into the Academy Awards this Sunday night in Hollywood, either, much less Elton John’s after-party. But you can still feel elegant and special by attending tonight’s gala benefit to support the Falls Church Winter Emergency Homeless Shelter being held at the State Theatre from 7 p.m. on. Knowing the kind of weather we’ve had the last month, you figure the money is needed and going to an important cause. Fantastic music actually begins earlier in the day with F.C.’s own band, Kasmati, performing free from 3:45 to 5 p.m. At the gala, itself, admission is $35 and appetizers will be served to augment the cash bar.
