Falls Church Hires New Principal

Students and faculty at Falls Church High School have a new principal, after the school announced the hiring of Cathy Benner. Benner, formerly of Centreville High School replaces Janice Lloyd, who retired in November of 2007, as the new permanent principal as of May 1, 2008.

Jerry Ziskind, Popular F.C. Elementary School Teacher for 18 Years, Dies

Jerry Ziskind, retired first grade teacher at Mt. Daniel Elementary School in the City of Falls Church died last Sunday, Dec. 10, at his home after a courageous battle with bladder cancer. He was successfully treated for a sarcoma in his left arm in 2003, and was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2004.
