Mason Student Wins Second Place In Poetry Contest Julia Douglas, a student at George Mason High School, won second place in the Poetry Out Loud Competition on March 5 at the Library of Virginia in Richmond.

Episcopal Bishop of Virginia Hails F.C. ‘Continuing’ Flock

The Rt. Rev. Peter James Lee, the bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia, made a personal appearance with the exiled Falls Church congregation of “continuing Episcopalians” Sunday at their temporary digs in the fellowship hall of the Falls Church Presbyterian Church.

“Uncommon Beauty,” at the Ellipse Arts Center (4350 Fairfax Drive, Suite 125, Arlington). This exhibit runs through Dec. 13. The gallery hours are Wednesday – Friday 11 a.m. – 7 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and will be closed the week of Thanksgiving. Garage parking is $3 on weekdays.

Lee Graham’s Divers Humbled by Competition


Lee Graham sent three of its best divers to the 2008 Northern Virginia Swimming League (NVSL) All-Star Dive Meet at Dunn Loring Pool on Sunday to compete for the title All-Star Champion, one of the highest individual honors for an NVSL diver.

L.G. Shines at All-Star Swim

Lee Graham’s finest swimmers put a frustrating season behind them, and had a collectively solid day against some of the best competition in the area at the Northern Virginia All-Stars Swim Meet on Saturday. Lee Graham had a top-three finisher in nine of the 40 events, including two first place finishes.
