Coming off their first loss of the season to Briar Woods High, the George Mason High School varsity girls’ basketball team entered the Pohanka Holiday Classic hoping to make some noise in the field predominately comprised of AAA schools.
Last Thursday, the George Mason High School varsity volleyball team went up against one of the toughest teams in the states with a shot at a Region B birth on the line.

Despite their home field advantage in the Babe Ruth state tournament, the Falls Church-Annandale 13U squad was unable to capitalize on their status as hosts of the tournament, dropping their only two games, 7-4 to Lane of Charlottesville on Thursday and 8-1 to Williamsburg on Friday.
