As most of you know, I define myself as a “yellow dog” Democrat. The term has a murky history, but generally means that I would vote for any Democrat, even if it was a yellow dog. (I have occasionally voted Republican, but that is another story.)

The Virginia Tech tragedy is fast becoming over-analyzed in the press, and I hadn’t really planned to go there, other than to express my profound shock and almost complete lack of comprehension of what could drive a person to such depths of despair and destruction.
A group from the Arlington Learning in Retirement Institute recently toured the Arlington Career Center on Walter Read Drive in South Arlington, topped off with a spaghetti and salad luncheon prepared by the center’s culinary arts students.. It was a great experience – including the food!
