Mason Boys Close in on State Tourney
George Mason High School seniors Alex Goetting and Xavier Alarcon claimed the Region B doubles title, defeating the tandem of Zach Pack and Jay Howard 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 in the finals to advance to the state tournament next week at Radford University.

Despite falling to Bull Run District Rival Strasburg High School in the regular season finale last Thursday, the George Mason High School volleyball team rebounded on Tuesday to defeat Manassas Park in three games to advance to the second round of the Bull Run District Tournament.
