“I think the team felt the sense of urgency of needing to finally get into the win column,” said head coach Adam Amerine. “We had a couple players volunteer to play new spots if we felt it would help the team’s performance.”

The hometown Mustangs (5-3) started strong and never slowed down in a match that quickly became a blowout.

Football, cross-country, girl’s volleyball and boy’s golf all find themselves in a similar position adjusting to a new district after the school moved from the 2A to 3A classification.

Despite falling behind early, the Mustangs never stopped fighting and outscored the Rams 13-0 in the fourth quarter.
