Mary Riley Styles Earns 6th Straight Top Library Rating

The City of Falls Church’s Mary Riley Styles Public Library was once again named one of the top libraries in the country, earning a four-star rating from Library Journal. This marks the sixth consecutive year the F.C. library has earned a high rating and is one of only three in Virginia to be chosen this year.

“It is very exciting to receive the prestigious Star Rating, up from three stars last year! This honor confirms that the library is providing excellent services for the community,” said Mary Riley Styles Director Mary McMahon in a press release. “I am so proud of the library staff for making this possible.” Each year, the Library Journal compares the levels of library service to those of other peer libraries nationally. The services of more than 7,500 public libraries are measured and used by the library industry to determine best practices and trends in library use. The measurement includes the per capita circulation, patron visits, program attendance and public Internet access.

The full list of 263 ranked libraries, detailed explanation of the index measurements, and information about trends are available at www.libraryjournal.com.
