I must count among the most exquisitely moving musical performances I have ever witnessed to be last night’s truly epic rendition of the Edith Piaf classic, “L’Hymne a l’amour,” by Celine Dion topping off the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics. The Olympics have always been an inspiration in their intended message of peacefully celebrating our common humanity on this planet, and Dion’s triumph over her personal health limitations to pull off such a flawless and powerful testament to love was truly one for the ages!
