In a thrilling showdown under the Monday night lights, Falls Church Red’s All-Star team (players aged 8-10) delivered an impressive 8-2 victory over Arlington American, showcasing their skill on both offense and defense.

Arlington American took an early lead in the top of the first inning, capitalizing on a wild pitch to put themselves on the scoreboard. However, FC Red quickly responded in the bottom half of the inning, igniting their offense to take control of the game. Will Talbert’s clutch single drove in two runs, supported by a key single from Gavin Kuczkowski that added another run. Mookie Baltrym’s walk also contributed to a 4-2 lead for FC Red by the end of the first inning.

The momentum continued in the third inning as Gavin delivered a powerful triple, driving in another run, and Evan Iweagwu followed suit with a single that scored yet another run, extending FC Red’s lead to 6-2.

On the mound, Spencer Allan earned the win for FC Red with a solid performance. Starting the game, Spencer allowed only two hits and two runs over four innings. He showcased his pitching skillfulness by striking out six batters while issuing four walks. CJ Mullin stepped in for relief duty, pitching two scoreless innings and shutting down Arlington American without allowing a hit.

Offensively, Gavin emerged as a standout offensive performer driving in two crucial runs on two hits while also scoring two runs on passed balls.  Joining him in the hitting brigade were Will Talbert and Ryan Richardson, each collecting two hits, two runs, and one RBI each, while Mookie Baltrym led the team in walks with two, which highlighted FC Red’s disciplined approach at the plate.
