This Week in Sports: Girls Soccer

GEORGE MASON HIGH SCHOOL’S girls soccer team received a surprise day off to start the Region 2B tournament on Monday when opponent, Staunton-based Robert E. Lee High School, decided to forfeit instead of make the trek up to Falls Church. Prior to that, the Mustangs successfully defended their Bull Run District crown for the last time by defeating Madison County High School 3-0 in the championship game. Mason defeated Wilson Memorial High School 9-0 in the Region 2B semifinal last night and will host the Region championship tomorrow at 7 p.m.
