S. Spring St. Citizens Express Storm Water Concerns

A half dozen citizens identifying themselves as residents of S. Spring Street in Falls Church spoke during the petition period at the Falls Church City Council meeting Monday night, expressing concern for storm water and other impacts on their neighborhood of the 4.3-acre Founders Row project, where ground clearing prior to construction is just getting underway up the street.

While F.C. City Manager Wyatt Shields said that storm water mitigation technology will be introduced into the new development for the first time, as part of the agreement permit the project where there is nothing now, he proposed a meeting with the group about their concerns for runoff from other areas, including the nearby Fields housing development.

Work on N. West Street that is impacting traffic by the Founders Row site now is to provide agreed-to sanitary sewer upgrades, he added.
