Low Income Housing Options Available

Falls Church’s Housing and Human Services department is accepting applications for two U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grants: Community Development Block Grant and HOME Investment Partnerships Program. The funds are available to public agencies and nonprofit organizations to assist City residents with low and moderate incomes.

The funds may be used for housing development, rental assistance, social services, economic development, and public services. Funded projects in the past have included home repair, rental assistance to prevent homelessness, rehabilitation of a housing development, and more.

Applications are due by noon on Friday, Sept. 21. Then, the City will hold two public hearings on the FY 2019-2020 proposals in October and the City Council will approve the final grant awards in November.
