Catholic Church Holds Mass For Religious Freedom

The Catholic Diocese of Arlington will celebrate the Fortnight for Freedom 2017, with an opening Mass in Arlington on Thursday, June 22 at 7 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. Thomas More (3901 N. Cathedral Lane, Arlington). A reception will follow. This year’s theme, “Freedom for Mission,” is focused on the importance and value of freedom to be a witness to the Catholic faith in how parishioners pray, serve others and promote a culture of freedom.

The Fortnight for Freedom is an annual 14-day event held in dioceses and parishes across the U.S. to raise awareness about the importance of religious freedom. Launched by the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops (USCCB), the Fortnight for Freedom initiative aims to protect religious liberty through prayer and activism.
