F.C. Resident Receives Fulbright Award

Jaime Calderon, a senior at McDaniel College and Falls Church local, has been named a Fulbright finalist for an English Teaching Assistantship Program in Andorra. A Spanish major with minors in English literature and French Culture and literature, Calderon is also a member of multiple honor societies, serves as a peer mentor and tutor, is a member of the McDaniel College Choir and Madrigal Singers and as well is the arts and culture editor of the McDaniel Free Press and a member of the Contrast Literary Magazine’s editorial board. Growing up in El Salvador before moving to the United States when he was 15, Calderon is one of four students from McDaniel College to receive Fulbright awards to teach abroad during the 2017-18 school year.
