F.C. Education Foundation Announces Teacher of Year Award

The Falls Church Education Foundation has opened nominations for its new Teacher of the Year award, according to the Falls Church City Public Schools’ Morning Announcements. The award was originally called the Agnes Meyer Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award and was sponsored by the Washington Post.

But then the Washington Post significantly changed the structure of the award, the Falls Church Education Foundation decided to sponsor the award to ensure that the winning teacher receives a monetary award.

All of the nominees will receive tickets to the Falls Church Education Foundation Annual Gala and the winner will receive a $1,500 award. The deadline for nominations is Thursday, Jan. 5. Nominees will be announced in January and the winner will be announced in March or April.

The winner will also be the Falls Church City Public Schools finalist for the Washington Post Teacher of the Year Award. For more information, visit fcedf.org/blog. To nominate a teacher, visit tinyurl.com/hmewzt3.
