Falls Church Offers New ‘Downtown Plaza’ Survey

The City of Falls Church is inviting area residents and businesses what they would like to see at the new Downtown Plaza, which will be located in the 100 block of W. Broad Street, between the Hunan Cafe and Hot N Juicy Crawfish restaurants.

Area residents are asked what they think would draw people to the area, like evening lighting, an active water feature, public art, benches, movable tables and chairs or games. The revitalized plaza will help to increase pedestrian traffic in the downtown area, provide economic benefits for local businesses and create a versatile space for everyone to enjoy in the heart of Downtown Falls Church City.

The project is part of the City’s 2017-2021 Capital Improvement Program, and funding was provided by a grant from the Economic Development Authority. The survey is available on the website fallschurchva.gov/DowntownPlaza through Monday, Jan. 2 at 5 p.m.
