Neighborhood Tree Planting Scheduled for Nov. 19

The Village Preservation and Improvement Society is hosting a street tree planting event on Saturday, Nov. 19 on Spring Street in Falls Church starting at 8:30 a.m. Event organizers and participants will meet at 200 N. Spring Street for a tree planting demonstration to begin the event.

Event organizers said that participants should wear boots or heavy shoes, clothes that they can get dirty and gloves. They also said that participants who have long-handled shovels should bring them, but that they will have tools for those who lack them.

There will also be refreshments at the event. In order to RSVP for the event, email Seth Heminway at heminway.seth@gmail.com. For more information, call the Kathleen Reich, the Falls Church City arborist at 703-248-5183.
