Village Preservation & Improvement Society Host Tree Planting Events

The Village Preservation and Improvement Society is hosting two tree planting events in cooperation with the City of Falls Church, the first of which is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 29 at 8:30 a.m. The meeting place for that event is Berman Park at 200 Kent Street.

The organization said in an e-mail to the News-Press that it needs help planting more than 30 street trees across the City. The second tree planting event is Saturday, Nov. 19 at 8:30 a.m. at location to be determined.

Event organizers said that participants should wear boots or heavy shoes, clothes that can get dirty and gloves and that they will provide tools and refreshments. The tree planting events will be held on the Sunday the day following the scheduled date at 1 p.m. in the case of rain. For more information, visit vpis.org/trees.
