Three classes of students from George Mason High School traveled to Washington, D.C. early in the morning on Wednesday, Oct. 5 to participate in a Doctors Without Borders event on the Syrian refugee crisis.
They visited the Forced From Home exhibit on the National Mall. Doctors from Doctors Without Borders led the participants, including Mason students from French, World Civilizations and International Relations classes, through a simulation of being a refugee.
The humanitarian crisis impacts 60 million people, and students learned about being a refugee from a personal perspective.
