Falls Church’s Farm Day Features Scarecrow Making

The City of Falls Church is hosting its annual Farm Day on Saturday, Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Cherry Hill Park at 312 Park Avenue. Along with scarecrow making, the event will feature blacksmith demonstrations, horse-drawn hayrides, pumpkin painting and a petting zoo.

Children of all ages can learn basic farming skills such as corn-shelling, cider pressing and beekeeping at the event. There will also be tours of the Cherry Hill Farmhouse given during the event. Andrew Acosta and Friends will perform and Margaret’s Soul Food and Stay Cool Ice Cream will have food for sale.

Finally, there will be a Children’s Tent at Farm Day, sponsored by Gentle Touch Dental P.C. Admission for the event is free, but there is a fee for some of the activities. For more information, call 703-248-5027, email recreation@fallschurchva.gov or visit fallschurchva.gov/FarmDay.
