Fairfax County Animal Protection Police removed 82 living cats and five dead cats from a 52-year-old man’s house in the 7200 block of Westmoreland Road in Falls Church on Saturday, Sept. 17 after receiving a tip from an investigator with the Director of Code Compliance.

Officers discovered the dozens of the cats, ranging in age from newborns to nearly seven years old, exhibiting varying signs and symptoms of illness. All of the cats were removed from the home, transported to the Fairfax County Animal Shelter and treated by a local veterinarian. The officers also collected the remains of the dead cats.
