For those not eagerly burying their noses in their smart phones at every opportunity, or dedicated to taking power naps whenever possible, the array of printed materials readily available in a waiting room, at a doctor’s office, for example, may offer adventurous gateways to new and even fascinating alternative universes.

Our editor’s choice as the winner for the best array of such materials in this year’s Best of Falls Church competition goes to Family Medicine in Falls Church Dr. Gordon Theisz reviews the careful choices he and his staff have made to bring interesting and educational options to patients or family members of patients when they’re in the waiting room.

Note that Dr. Theisz sports a copy of the historic hard cover history of the City of Falls Church by Brad Gernand and Nan Netherton in his printed materials “play list,” as well as the popular Dr. Seuss book, Horton Hears a Who, appropriate for all ages, and, oh, do we espy a copy of the mighty Falls Church News-Press?
