Margaret Rutherford, a student at J.E.B. Stuart High School and Annandale resident, was among a select group of students who recently participated in Susquehanna University’s High School Choral Institute. Rutherford is a member of Stuart’s class of 2020.
The Choral Institute is a week-long residential program focused on improving students’ musicianship, vocal technique and choral performance skills.
Participants take classes in music theory, conducting, diction and vocal science, receive group vocal instruction from Susquehanna voice faculty, hear performances by Susquehanna students and faculty and participate in a closing concert in Stretansky Concert Hall of the Cunningham Center for Music and Art.
