Crime Report: Police Officer Assaulted During Traffic Stop, Egging on N. Oak & Graffiti

A 57-year-old Falls Church man was arrested for assaulting a police officer during a traffic stop over the weekend. According to the least City of Falls Church crime report, after being stopped for a motor vehicle violation, the man was arrested for assaulting an officer, driving under the influence, eluding the police and refusal to submit a blood or breath test.

In other crime, someone egged a house and car on N. Oak St., somebody tagged the W&OD with graffiti, a TV was stolen from a business on Hillwood Ave., a laptop was taken from a vehicle on Midvale St. and two women tried to use fake checks to pay for groceries at Giant.

 

City of Falls Church Crime Report: July 18 – 24, 2016

Vandalism, 500 block N. Oak St. On July 18, police received a report that eggs were thrown on to the victim’s residence and vehicle sometime after July 13.

Graffiti, 1000 block W. Broad St. On July 18, graffiti were found on the W&OD bridge.

Larceny from Building, 100 block Hillwood Ave. On July 19, an unknown suspect stole a television set from the victim business.

Driving Under the Influence, 1100 block W. Broad St. On July 21, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. The driver, a male, 34, of Falls Church, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.

Smoking Violation, 6795 Wilson Blvd. #52 (Hung Café Billiard) On July 11, a male, 38, of Annandale, was cited for Smoking In a Non-Designated Area.

Larceny from Motor Vehicle, 200 block Midvale St. On July 14, an unknown suspect stole a laptop from the victim’s vehicle.

Larceny from Building, 300 block N. Spring St. On July 15, lawn ornaments were reported stolen from the victim’s residence sometime after June 27.
Shoplifting, 1230 W. Broad St. (Giant Foods) On July 21, two females attempted to fraudulently pay for merchandise with false checks.

Assault, 6751 Wilson Blvd. (Good Fortune) On July 22, a male, 43, of Falls Church; and a male, 26, of Falls Church, were arrested for Assault.

Possession of False ID, 300 block W. Broad St. On July 24, a male, 20, of Chantilly, was arrested and released on summons for Possession of False ID.

Assaulting a Law Enforcement Officer, Driving Under the Influence, and Eluding Police, 200 block S. Cherry St. On July 24, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. The driver, a male, 57, of Falls Church, was arrested for Assaulting a Law Enforcement Officer, Driving Under the Influence, Eluding Police, and Refusal to Submit to a Blood or Breath Test.
