Fairfax Man Arrested for Allegedly Firing Gun in F.C.

A 40-year-old man was arrested on Monday, July 11 for allegedly firing a gun 10-15 times on Tuesday, July 5, according to the Fairfax County Police Department. Police said that around 3:47 p.m. on July 5 that an officer heard several gunshots being fired in the area of the 8200 Willow Oaks Corporate Drive in Fairfax.

Additional officers and resources responded to assist in checking the area. Officers from the Mason district, McLean district, motor squad, S.W.A.T., K9 Unit and the department’s helicopter aided in the extensive search that was conducted in the surrounding woods and residential neighborhoods.

During the investigation, it was determined that numerous citizens also heard multiple gunshots in the area. No evidence was found at the time and no one was injured. Then, at around 7:08 p.m. on July 11, officers responded to the 3200 block of Cannongate Road in Falls Church for a report of a domestic-related incident.

While conducting their investigation, officers noticed bullet holes inside of the residence. During the investigation, information arose that led to the arrest of Carlos Garcia, of Fairfax, for allegedly unlawful discharge of a firearm. He was then arrested and charged with discharging firearms within or at a building.
