GM Hall of Fame Seeks Nominations Through June 1

The George Mason High School Athletic Hall of Fame Nominating Committee announced last week that it accepting nominations for the school’s sports Hall of Fame through Wednesday, June 1 with the objective of holding inductions in the Fall of 2016.

Honorees will be recognized at George Mason High School’s football game on September 30, 2016 and inducted the following evening at ceremonies at the Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School gym. Interested individuals can nominate any athletes, teams, coaches, administrators, or program friends they believe are worthy of consideration and induction.

The Committee will also consider nominees for a Special Achievement Award which is designed to honor persons who have made particularly inspirational contributions to George Mason High School athletics. Selection criteria are available on the website and the nominating form at masonathletics.org/main/alumnitr.

Among other criteria, athletes must have been graduated at least five years ago (classes through class of 2010 are eligible) with similar constraints as to teams (teams that completed their seasons on or before the spring of 2010 are eligible). Self-nominations are not permitted.
