McLean Community Center Announces May Events

The McLean Community Center recently announced its May slate of events, which includes an opportunity for residents to meet candidates for the community center’s governing board ahead of the May 21 election. A Meet the Candidates event for the candidates to the McLean Community Center’s governing board is scheduled for Sunday, May 1 2 – 4 p.m. at the community center, located at 1234 Ingleside Ave., McLean.

Fantasy sports expert Matthew Berry will give a talk about sports, featuring tips from the front lines of fantasy sports, at The Alden on Tuesday, May at 7:30 p.m. He will also sign copies of his book Fantasy Life: The Outrageous, Uplifting, and Heartbreaking World of Fantasy Sports from the Guy Who’s Lived It at the event, which is cosponsored by the Fairfax County Public Library and the McLean Community Center.

Then on Saturday, May 21 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. the McLean Community Center will host McLean Day 2016 at Lewinsville Park, located at 1659 Chain Bridge Road, McLean. Activities at the event will include live entertainment, great food, a petting zoo, exhibitor booths, games, a tennis clinic, a magician and carnival rides.

Voting for the community center’s governing board will also take place at McLean Day 2016 from 10:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. For more information, visit mcleancenter.org.
