The State Theatre Hosts Benefit for Jimmy Nalls

Jimmy Nalls, who grew up in Falls Church and cut his musical teeth at local teen dances in the area in the 60s, has been battling Parkinson’s disease for several years. Nalls starred in local bands like DC Dog before venturing out into the international music scene.

On April 26, there will be a star-studded benefit for Nalls in Nashville, so The Nighthawks, who Nalls played with from 1988 – 1990, are throwing a matching event in Falls Church at The State Theatre the same night. The Chris O’Leary Band, in the midst of their current CD tour, happened to have the night off between engagements and agreed to join The Nighthawks for the benefit.

The tribute is scheduled for 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26. For more information, visit thestatetheatre.com.
