F.C. Boys Select Basketball Team Wins 2 Championships

Falls Church City’s 7th grade boys select basketball team were regular season champions of the Fairfax County Youth Basketball League and took the tournament championship with a 64-59 win over Fort Hunt. Led by coach Mike Thomas and assistant coach Dennis Martino, the team finished the regular season with a 16-1 record.

The Fairfax County Youth Basketball League awarded several accolades to the team, including the Most Valuable Coach award to Thomas, Most Valuable Player to Deven Martino, naming to the All-League team for Marco Ferrara and Declan Quill and Most Valuable Player of the championship game to Marco.

The team also shined off court, volunteering with the Special Olympics of Loudon County by running with children with special needs.
